It was at the end of eighth grade and I had to decide who to be, a dragon or a bulldog. I had been talking to neighbors and friends and all I heard were good things about Foothill. I decided I may have been influenced, but my mom said that Foothill is for you that ”I was born a dragon”. It was then I decided to attend Foothill, and my mom said to go to Foothill so I went.
I had a lot of things going on when it was time to make the decision. First, I did a little research on this school and I found FTHS looks good on college resume. Second, I had to get the application filled out for foothill and I had to be on time or my chance would slip through my fingers. Third, I saw that all my friends were going to St. Bonnie and my mom said that she did not feel that that school was a very good fit. So Foothill it is! Finally, I wanted to go to college and Foothill supported my future in attending different potential Universities. So, I decided it was a good thing to go to Foothill for those reasons.
The beginning of the school year has been great. I felt welcomed in the “tunnel of love.” There are 3 papers piling up already to finish and more work coming my way. I listened to my friend’s opinions on this school too and it was 50-50 good and bad. My fire mentors are helping to welcome the fire kids. I will never forget the first day of school when got lost and my fire leader caught me stranded and helped me but I was embarrassed. That is how I get to remember my beginning of my freshman year of high school.
I am grateful for being 1 out of 275 kids that got in this year. I am happy I decided to go here instead of other schools because I felt welcomed and comfortable at Foothill. This school is going to push me to be a better student. I can’t slack of at this school to get A’s I need to work and study hard. Mr. Gibe thank you for making me work hard on papers.
In conclusion, I feel that the opportunities I will have at Foothill will outweigh any experience I could have had anywhere else and the decision to apply and hope for the acceptance letter is one that I will appreciate always.
